Mega Entertainment Center Planned For VictoryLand

Construction is underway for a major hotel at VictoryLand

Construction of a mega entertainment center, including a 300-500 room luxury hotel is underway at VictoryLand and Quincy’s 777 Casino. The expansion at the facility will create approximately 600-800 new jobs for Macon County. The entertainment complex will seat 1,500 people for concerts.

“We are going to have outstanding steak house, a first-class seafood restaurant and the largest buffet anywhere in the Southeast,” owner Milton McGregor said, following a recent proclamation honoring him by the mayor.

“While the state is announcing how proud it is to have new foreign industries locating in Alabama, I think we have to give as much recognition and praise to a local industry that is making a $100 million investment here in Alabama,” Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Fordsaid. “For us in Macon County, VictoryLand is our Hyundai, our Mercedes, our German steel plant,” he told
the media.

McGregor says the new facility will attract top entertainers, such as Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Ronnie Milsap, and The Commodores. He says his goal is to have a big artist come in about every other week.

McGregor is counting on the expansion to bring almost half-a-million more people a year to the facility that over 2 1/2 million visitors now visit each year.
